Volume of Food

There was a recent article on CNN regarding the professor who reduced his caloric intake but ate mostly twinkies and other snack and dessert foods. The results were he lost 27 pounds and his health improved proving that it is not the food content that is making everyone gain weight but rather the volume. Check out this story:

Praising God for Remnant Fellowship

What an incredible Weekend! Candace, Daniel, Alexa, Michelle and I were blessed with a beautiful sabbath dinner with our dear sisters Connie and Nicole Stover and Tiffany Spencer. Our Sabbath Assembly on Saturday morning was amazing. Gwen Shamblin delivered a life changing message that will be used for The latest seminar from The Weigh Down Workshop . We have no doubt that this lesson will be used to point countless people to God for years to come.

Saturday afternoon was an incredibly blessed and productive day for Candace and I and in the evening I had the privilege of spending time with The Remnant Fellowship Youth. This local group in Brentwood, Tennessee consists of 300 children, youth and young adults who are focused on putting God first in their lives and laying down their lives to help one another and to be a light to everyone they come in contact with. It is incredible to see their love for God and one another. God has blessed them for their obedience as they are excelling academically, athletically and artistically. It is truly awesome!

Sunday allowed us to talk to a few of our brothers and sisters throughout the day and to welcome my mom to our house for another week. What a blessing! We had a beautiful day praising God for this incredible life. Needless to say, we had a very blessed day and look forward to the coming week.

Very grateful,

Tedd and Candace

Re: A Post by Remnant on being gracious!!

In a recent post, Gwen Shamblin posted this and I just have held it so dear to my heart. I praise God for Weigh Down Ministries and Remnant Fellowship Church. Postings like this have changed how I look and how I live my life. For more information go to www.remnantfellowship.org

Last week, Gwen Shamblin wrote:

Let us continue to focus on the nature of God - our God's attributes. The Market dropped another 541 points yesterday. The graph is spiraling downward in an unprecedented fall. No one has ever seen such a collapse of the Wall Street. Our God graciously gave us a warning and this warning started in 1998/99.

So Moses chiseled out two stone tablets like the first ones and went up Mount Sinai early in the morning, as the LORD had commanded him; and he carried the two stone tablets in his hands. Then the LORD came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the LORD. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation."

Yesterday we talked about how compassionate God is and today we will praise Him for His gracious nature. The antonyms abound: giving, merciful, compassionate, kind; forgiving, lenient, forbearing, humane, tenderhearted, sympathetic; indulgent, generous, magnanimous, benign, benevolent.

It can also means courteous, polite, civil, chivalrous, well-mannered, mannerly, decorous; tactful, diplomatic; kind, benevolent, considerate, thoughtful, obliging, accommodating, indulgent, magnanimous; friendly, amiable, cordial, hospitable.

If God is gracious - the word also conjures up elegant, stylish, tasteful, graceful; approachable, luxurious, sumptuous, opulent, grand, high-class - as in "gracious host'

Antonyms to gracious are cruel rude or crude. But to me the word gracious mainly means that God has been so full of grace to allow me[us] to stay on the straight and narrow path of salvation when at any time he could of allowed us togo our own way. He has graciously provided scores of second chances and ways of escape and jewels or happies and signs and encouragement along the way so that I [we] did not fall off the path of salvation. Here we are by the GRACE OF GOD. No one can boast of his/her super spirituality. I that is your memory - I could probably jog your memory of how really stubborn you were at first - In coming to the truth, to God in full surrender. In spite of myself/yourself you and I are here. It will continue to take God's grace to finish this journey to the Heart of the Father.

Keep these words and talk to yourself and your children and use these words about God and explain why He is each word listed. If we learn to talk about God to our children this way - they will learn to have faith.

GOD IS GRACIOUS

Re: Candace's Favorite Bible Study

I got to do a bible study named, The Legend to the Treasure series, this year. One of the most life changing studies I have ever done. It was put out by The Weigh Down Workshop. I linked part of the orientation video in this blog. You can watch it and go to www.thelegendtotheTreasure.com to view more. In it, Weigh Down founder, Gwen Shamblin is teaching participants all about a relationship with God and teaches you practically how to be set free in - marriage, financies, losing weight, depression, overshopping etc. etc. No matter how close to God you feel you are, this will make you closer!! This bible study is sponsored by Remnant Fellowship Church.
